DISCLAIMER: I am not a writer or critic, just an everyday mom who really loves baseball...especially when my kids are on the field!!!

My blog was created to track my children's special moments on the field and their experience(s) with their respective teams. It is written through a mother's eyes. The intent is solely for the purpose of reliving the game(s) during post season. From my experience, there will be some bad plays / unfortunate incidents, and these may be recorded in order to follow the game(s). There will also be times when I will have questions or doubts...but these are MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION(S).

I apologize in advance if I do, but I do not intend to criticize any player, or coach...I SIMPLY CALL IT AS I SEE IT!!!

Baseball Ruins Cuteness!

While going though some stuff this weekend, I came across a couple of old photos, and I couldn't help notice how cute he was back then!

When he was a toddler he had very curly hair, like his paternal grandfather.  The nickname they gave him in daycare was curly-top.  People always thought he was a little girl, even when he was dressed in all blue!  At around age 4, we cut his hair and the curls were lost.

Back then, unlike now, he didn't mind taking photos at all!

It's Too Cold...Wish I Was Headed South!!!

OMG, it is COLD here in Toronto!  Although we haven't had a lot of snow this Season, the temperature has been extremely low...and the windchill makes it unbearable some days.  I lost track of how many Extreme Cold Alerts we've had so far but I heard on the radio that today's was the 16th for February alone...and it's only February 20th!
This guys has the right idea.  I think I might just tag along!!!

Aaron's Table...

I guess when you love baseball this much you can find ways to incorporate it into anything!  This semester Aaron took woodshop class and the final project was to build a table.  He made a small shelf earlier in the class so we already knew he was doing neat work.

I kept hearing about the table and how good it was turning out.  He even brought home the carvings that he was going to put on the sides, to show us.  I have to admit that I was really impressed by the designs but there were no real surprises in his choices!  I just wouldn't have thought of it!

It was also a moment of pride for Andy as he also did woodworking when he was younger.

Aaron scored 67/70 for his table but to me, it's priceless!!!

Groundhog Day...

It's very ironic that today is Groundhog Day but it is also the day we got the most snow for the Season, here in Toronto!  How can we expect the poor little groundhogs to predict anything when most of us are still trying to dig ourselves out from under all this snow!  We were lucky so far in terms of the amount of snow that fell, but not so lucky as there were quite a few COLD days, with extreme cold alerts being issued.

School buses got cancelled but not school and shortly after I dropped Aaron off to school, he called me to say all his classes got cancelled!  Practice tonight also got cancelled because there were no permits for the school gym that they normally use.  I guess he gets another relaxing day today...lucky kid!  Me, I had to fend for myself on the roads.  It's one of those drives where you keep both hands on the steering wheel.

Andy mentioned that there were some tournaments already posted on the Team's shared site but I hadn't checked before.  I decided to look today and was surprised to see that there were 6 weekend tournaments posted.  It's going to be a very busy Summer!!!

This Mommy can hardly wait for the games to begin.  I will think about all the hot Summer days and all the excitement at the games ahead while I am driving through the snowy roads this evening!  It was a such a mess this morning with all the snow and no ploughs in sight.  I had to slip my Jeep into 4x4 just to get out of my street this morning.  Hopefully it's a bit better for the drive home.  Hope everyone stays safe.
